HISTORY

Myra Lehman has exhibited her work in art shows in the Greater New York Area.  She has studied with

Ron Mineo, Sebastiano Mineo and Ira Chaffee at the Art Life Studio, and Carla Rae Johnson at the County

Center.  In 1989 she had a one-person show at the Rye Free Reading Room.  Her work was shown at the

Mari Gallery in Mamaroneck in 1993.  She spent time studying in the Barsanti Studio in Pietrasanta, Italy in1991 another time in Carrara, Italy in September of 2001. Myra exhibited her sculptures at Our Wold Gallery in Stamford CT. with 2 painters in May 2001, Many of her sculptures are in private collections in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, California and The Netherlands.

Myra Lehman creates works that are inspired by travel to museums here and abroad. She follows her ideas with minimalist abstraction with attention to the lines and the negative space.   The themes of her pieces are visualizations of mental processes and an expression of the characteristics of the materials.
